Schmincke Oil Bronze is perfect for shimmering metallic effects on oil paintings or other pre-primed surfaces e.g. metal, wood, plaster etc. To use, make it into a paste with the special binder ‘Schmincke Bronze Medium’, item code 20858.
Schmincke Oil Bronze should be mixed 3 parts oil bronze to 2 parts binder and mixed with a palette knife. White spirit can be used to thin the mixture if necessary. Once dry, Schmincke Oil Bronze can still be removed with white spirit or turpentine. For particularly absorbent substrates, pretreat them first with some diluted bronze medium. Schmincke Oil Bronze is available in 50ml jars in different tones.
