In this flow or casting technique, which is also known as fluid painting, acrylic paint is mixed with a special pouring medium, layered in a container and then poured over a large area on your painting surface. Depending on the composition and mixing ratio, the colours run more or less uncontrollably together and form spectacularly bizarre results during the drying process.

This Schmincke Pouring Medium is high gloss, clear, fluid, ready to use and dries to a transparent, waterproof finish. It can be used alone or mixed with any Schmincke acrylics.

Tips & Tricks:

The addition of silicone oil or spray creates a unique cell-forming effect, as the colours do not mix with each other.

For larger surfaces, the colour accumulates in the middle, the canvas should be well tensioned. You can also put something under this spot.

The smoother the surface the brighter and smoother the finished image.

If thicker colours are used, the colour should first be diluted with water and then added to the medium.

When applying the paint any air bubbles should be immediately touched with a toothpick or needle to disperse. The drying of the picture takes about 8-10 hours.

The processing and object temperature should not be below 15° C.

Clean tools with water immediately after use. Close containers immediately after use. Store in cool, dry conditions.
